Fiat 600 (unusual model)
New Photos Below!
Fiat 600, 98% complete with only a few
parts missing, ie. headlights, odd trim, front bumper and speedo glass, all the
interior is otherwise complete, as you can see from the pictures the bodywork is
sound, the chassis and floors are in excellent condition for age, all of the
panel work under the bonnet and around the engine bay is excellent as well.
There are only two places where it has holed, one is along the bottom of the
rear window but this would normally be covered up by a rubber, the other is just
in front of the right rear wheel where there is a hole in the sill that would be
very easy to repair. We have looked everywhere to try and find this model but we
have had not luck, note the wide wheels and arches, four headlights and the
unusual position of the front indicator lights, all of which are original, our
first thought was that its most striking characteristic, the extra headlights
were added after manufacture but very close inspection has revealed that the
grill was specially manufactured to take them, and it has an additional wiring
loom, there are also louvers in the rear quarter-panels but we presume that
these were fabricated later in its life. If you inspect the inside of the front
wings and the rear arch panels you can see that these have not been added to a
standard car as they are complete and original panels and are all steel. The
engine turns over no problem at all, it looks like it has had a new or
reconditioned head fitted very recently as it looks spotless, there is also a
remote brake servo in the engine bay. As we said the car is all complete it
looks like if you added a new battery and some fresh fuel plus some minor
tinkering it would run. We are waiting for the previous owner to send us the
paperwork then we will have a date to put to it as well as relevant engine and
chassis numbers to help identification. He has also included some extra parts to
go with the car including the three missing window glasses and some other parts
but we are not exactly sure what yet, other parts would be easily sourcable in
the UK and with the bodywork in such good condition it would be an easy and
rewarding restoration for any enthusiast. Watch this space for further updates.
Registration is Portuguese, the car is left hand drive. We will be able to
deliver this car to Plymouth at the beginning of December.
We
have now taken delivery of many of the parts that were missing on the car, all
of these will be included in the price (though not fitted) including all missing
window glass, two headlights, rear lights, distributor, fuel pump, rear number
plate light cowling and replacement speedo.
This car is obviously quite rare, we have
been looking all over the internet for one and we have not managed to find
anything else like it, If anyone has any idea of what the model of this car may
be please email spclassics@safieurope.com.
